Meet our losers!

I just wanted to take some time to introduce you to our new losers.  They will be posting blogs about their experiences as they happen under the “Success Stories” section of the blog page.  The following are quotes from our new losers, stating why they chose to take this challenge and what they hope to accomplish.

“I do better with structure and a game plan.  I’m interested in expanding my cardio-endurance.  I want to work with a heart rate monitor.  I would like to have a program that changes periodically as I meet my goals.  Supervision would be great.  Also, motivating others and sharing in their success would add to the success of all.

I would definitely take to heart and appreciate your expertise.  I would try to be an example and become the ‘fruit’ of your labor.  Your success story–”  Sharon Wilson

“My goal is to be  healthier person for myself and family.  Obesity and heart disease run in my family and I want to conquer that.  Also to be a good role model for my husband and children.  I am ready to make a life long change.  The best way for me to do that is to be properly educated with what is right.  Left on my own its hard because I’m not sure I’m making the right choices.  I’m very competitive and want this very much.” Kristy Pitchford

“I have never had a problem with weight until I stopped smoking in 2001.  I have tried to do it myself, but I cannot do it alone.  I feel that I need to have other poplein a program to keep me motivated.  I should be chosen for this program because I am worth it.”  Maria Thompson

“I have spent the last 25 years working very hard to make “something” of myself.  During that struggle, I ignored my physical body.  Since I was an overweight child, I never developed a healthy body image.  The funny thing is for about 18 years of th 25 year journey, in hindsight, I had a pretty nice figure; I just didn’t take notice because I always viewed myself as a fat undesirable child.  At age 26, at a size 7 juniors, I could only see myself as fat.

Now that I have earned a certain amount of success, and I am more comfortable no matter what my size, it is time to be more than comfortable with myself.  I deserve to reclaim the complete package that I am, and I need to show i in all ways–my health, my body, my self confidence.  I have worked very hard to prove I am worth something, and now it is time to prove it to myself.”  Lisa Peterson

“I am interested in this program because I will be going away to college the fall and I need to be in better health before I go.  I have always been overweight and think this is the perfect time for me to change my lifestyle.  I am afraid if I don’t fix myself now I will continue to get worse.  I am very motivated to make a change.  I just need help on what I should do.  I will be committed 120% to the pogram.  I am at the perfect stage in my life to change.” Cecily Bullock

“I want to lose weight and get in shape.  I’m 48 years old, I have two kids in college and two in middle school.  I need to get in shape to feel better about myself and have more energy to do all the things that I don’t feel like doing now.  I believe that I could follow the program and lose weight.  I need to learn to eat healthy and help my kids learn good nutrition.  I want to get control of my weight, my eating habits and start a new lifestyle.  I’m ready to get started.” Darinda Bullock

Now that you have met our participants, I hope that you will help them by providing them your encouragement and support.  Please read about their journey under the “Success Stories” tab of the blog.  We are so excited to be taking this journey with them.

Do you want to be a loser?

Conyers Anytime is gearing up to start our own version of a Biggest Loser program.  The program will consist of a circuit weight training class, supervised by a Personal Trainer.  The trainer will also monitor the participants using the Vitabot on-line nutrition program.  Participants will be weighed and measured at the beginning of the program, in the middle of the program, and at the end of the program.  The program will also include fitness assessments for each participant.  This program will be absolutely free to participants.

There will only be six slots available to participate in the program.  This will ensure that all participants receive the attention that they need in order to be successful.  All participants will be succcessful!  Since there are only six slots available (to begin with) we will be taking applications.  To apply for this program, please contact any staff member.  Potential participants will be interviewed and we will request a written statement from applicants stating why they should be chosen.  We will be looking for applicants that are highly motivated to make a lifestyle change.

We are really excited about this program!  Participants will blog about their experience so that other members will be able to share in their success, and support them in their efforts.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to our blog!

We hope to use this page to keep you updated on what is going on in the gym and throughout the community.  We would like to keep our members informed of any special events that we are participating in.

Of course, we would also like to use this as a way of getting feedback from our members.  We want you to share your ideas of how we can improve our member’s experience.  Before we implement any new program, we will use this blog to determine if there is enough interest.

You may notice that we have recently acquired a new piece of equipment.  We have it on a trial basis.  We need member feedback to help us decide whether or not we should keep this piece.

We would like to use the blog for members to share their success stories with each other.  You can share things that worked, and things that may not have worked.  This will help support and inspire other members in their quest for fitness.

Again, welcome to our blog.  I can’t wait to hear from everyone.

Sincerely,

Hilary Salter
