I just wanted to take some time to introduce you to our new losers. They will be posting blogs about their experiences as they happen under the “Success Stories” section of the blog page. The following are quotes from our new losers, stating why they chose to take this challenge and what they hope to accomplish.
“I do better with structure and a game plan. I’m interested in expanding my cardio-endurance. I want to work with a heart rate monitor. I would like to have a program that changes periodically as I meet my goals. Supervision would be great. Also, motivating others and sharing in their success would add to the success of all.
I would definitely take to heart and appreciate your expertise. I would try to be an example and become the ‘fruit’ of your labor. Your success story–” Sharon Wilson
“My goal is to be healthier person for myself and family. Obesity and heart disease run in my family and I want to conquer that. Also to be a good role model for my husband and children. I am ready to make a life long change. The best way for me to do that is to be properly educated with what is right. Left on my own its hard because I’m not sure I’m making the right choices. I’m very competitive and want this very much.” Kristy Pitchford
“I have never had a problem with weight until I stopped smoking in 2001. I have tried to do it myself, but I cannot do it alone. I feel that I need to have other poplein a program to keep me motivated. I should be chosen for this program because I am worth it.” Maria Thompson
“I have spent the last 25 years working very hard to make “something” of myself. During that struggle, I ignored my physical body. Since I was an overweight child, I never developed a healthy body image. The funny thing is for about 18 years of th 25 year journey, in hindsight, I had a pretty nice figure; I just didn’t take notice because I always viewed myself as a fat undesirable child. At age 26, at a size 7 juniors, I could only see myself as fat.
Now that I have earned a certain amount of success, and I am more comfortable no matter what my size, it is time to be more than comfortable with myself. I deserve to reclaim the complete package that I am, and I need to show i in all ways–my health, my body, my self confidence. I have worked very hard to prove I am worth something, and now it is time to prove it to myself.” Lisa Peterson
“I am interested in this program because I will be going away to college the fall and I need to be in better health before I go. I have always been overweight and think this is the perfect time for me to change my lifestyle. I am afraid if I don’t fix myself now I will continue to get worse. I am very motivated to make a change. I just need help on what I should do. I will be committed 120% to the pogram. I am at the perfect stage in my life to change.” Cecily Bullock
“I want to lose weight and get in shape. I’m 48 years old, I have two kids in college and two in middle school. I need to get in shape to feel better about myself and have more energy to do all the things that I don’t feel like doing now. I believe that I could follow the program and lose weight. I need to learn to eat healthy and help my kids learn good nutrition. I want to get control of my weight, my eating habits and start a new lifestyle. I’m ready to get started.” Darinda Bullock
Now that you have met our participants, I hope that you will help them by providing them your encouragement and support. Please read about their journey under the “Success Stories” tab of the blog. We are so excited to be taking this journey with them.
Hilary and Sam
Though it’s only been a week, the ladies in this program are making great progress. Every time we meet I get more ecstatic about the results that they are getting and the ones I know they are going to get. I’m not only excited for them but also for what the class will become in the future, when we get to start all over again with a whole new group of ladies and maybe some men as well. I’m stoked for all the progress and can’t stand the anticipation each week for the Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays to get here and show these ladies one fun and full intense hour of getting in shape!

So far this has been a great week even though I’m a little sore! The one thing I’ve noticed this week is that I have more energy. With the daily exercise and healthier eating choices, I haven’t felt sluggish throughout the day. Hilary and Sam have been great with testing our levels of endurance…and it’s also been great to have a workout partner. Hopefully as the weeks go by we will all be a ‘loser’! I up for the challenge!
